That was Viggo in 2007 signing his character’s book, Die Art der Gnade, in Budapest for the film Good. He wrote quite a lot and I thought it would say something along the lines of: ‘to John, from Viggo’. But alas when I read it, it was written ‘in character’: ‘Berlin, der 2 April, 1938. Fur meinen geliebten Fuhrer – J. Y. Halder.’ To my beloved Fuhrer… which takes some explaining!
He was ALWAYS ‘in character’… At least he didn’t have to carry his broadsword around this time. I think the police were called in New Zealand…
